The Defense Forces asserted that the terminals used by Iran-backed Yemeni militias will take a long time to be reused.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on Friday that they carried out a wave of airstrikes in Yemen. They stated that they destroyed infrastructure at the ports of Hodeidah and Salif, controlled by the Houthis, in response to missile and drone attacks launched by the Iranian-backed group against Israel.
Dozens of Israeli Air Force aircraft took part in the strikes, including fighter jets, refueling planes, and reconnaissance aircraft, according to the local newspaper The Times of Israel.
“These ports are used for arms transfers and are yet another example of the cynical exploitation of civilian infrastructure by the Houthi terrorist regime to promote terrorism,” the Israeli military stated.
The ports have previously been targeted by the Israeli Air Force, as has Sana’a International Airport in Yemen.
The IDF said that the strikes aim to “increase damage to the Houthi terror capabilities.”
Earlier this week, the IDF warned civilians to evacuate the two western Yemeni ports, along with a third port, Ras Isa, which was not targeted today.
“In light of the use of these ports by the Houthi terrorist regime for terrorist purposes, the IDF reiterates its warning to those present in the ports to keep their distance and evacuate the area,” said the military in a statement.
Since the last Israeli Defense Forces attack on Yemen on May 6, the Houthis have launched at least seven missiles and two drones toward Israeli territory.
The Israeli military estimated that the Houthis will need approximately a month to restore the western Yemeni ports struck today by the Israeli Air Force.
Ground Operations Against Hamas in Gaza
Meanwhile, the IDF continues to operate across the Gaza Strip, destroying infrastructure and eliminating fighters under the direction of the Intelligence Directorate, Southern Command, and Shin Bet, according to a statement posted on its social media accounts.
“In the past 24 hours, the Air Force has struck over 150 terrorist targets across the Gaza Strip. Among the targets were anti-tank positions, terrorist squads, and military structures from which terrorists operated to carry out attacks against IDF forces,” the military stated on its X account.
It continued: “In the northern Gaza Strip, Division 252 forces are working to locate and destroy terrorist infrastructure. Over the past 24 hours, division forces eliminated several terrorists operating in an observation post in the area.”
“The Gaza Division forces continue to operate in the southern Gaza Strip. They destroyed terrorist infrastructure, including buildings and tunnels of the Hamas terrorist organization, and eliminated several terrorists operating in the area,” the statement added.
Lastly, it was reported that Division 36 forces continue to operate in the southern part of the Strip, destroying infrastructure in the area. “The forces eliminated several terrorists who were operating and planning to plant an explosive device,” the statement concluded.
